An APTN Original Series
After two decades in high-end kitchens across Ontario and New York, Chef Tawnya Brant returns to Six Nations to open a restaurant, increasing access to Indigenous foods and traditions for her community.
About
One Dish One Spoon is a documentary series that follows Chef Tawnya Brant as she embarks on a journey to strengthen food security and local economies in her home community of Six Nations. The Haudenosaunee people of Six Nations have practiced agriculture since time immemorial. However, centuries of colonization have impacted food security in this region.
Through the support of family, fellow seed keepers, farmers, agricultural experts, historians and a few colourful personalities, we discover that community lies at the heart of food security. One Dish One Spoon delves into the challenges, successes and sacrifices involved in creating the only professional Indigenous food service within an Indigenous community.
